On a sunny day, being able to completely remove the side screens (which we don't have for the car by the way) makes for an interesting driving experience too!.
Simple and reliable, this car could reach 110 mph.
A stunning looking car - the Triumph TR3 is a popular British roadster from the 1950s.
The steering itself is reasonably fast and the ride in general is quite good.
Gearbox is a delight to handle, through its central stubby, short-throw lever.
Will be serviced, have fluids changed on sale.
We did nothing on motor as its quite healthy, with good oil pressure, compressions etc.
When we got it, none of the electrics were working, brakes were ceased etc - it was stored without any use for many years - all this has been restored and car is now in great working order with no known issues whatsoever.
New upholstery, new carpets, new tyres, new wire wheels, new chrome bits including new front bumper, body was mostly stripped down and repainted.
NZ NEW - still on original black plates, this car was restored by us in house.
The Triumph was campaigned in races, hill climbs, and rallies across Europe and North America, with several outright, team, and class victories to its credit. The rugged ‘sidescreen’ TR was a sales and motorsport success and was the company's third best seller in the TR range, behind the TR7 and the TR6. This updated variant, popularly but unofficially known as the "TR3A" entered production in 19 was the last year for them. The Triumph TR3 is a British sports car produced between 19 by the Standard-Triumph Motor Company of Coventry, England.Ī traditional roadster, the TR3 is an evolution of the company's earlier TR2 model, with greater power and improved braking.
